The Cliffs Welcomes Back No Barriers Warriors for Annual Outdoor Classic

We are thrilled to share that The Cliffs at Walnut Cove will host the 4th annual No Barriers Outdoor Classic Golf Tournament and Luncheon on Tuesday, August 30.

The No Barriers Outdoor Classic is a two-day event in Asheville August 29-30, and for the third consecutive year Walnut Cove will be hosting the second day of the event, as No Barriers Warriors and the Asheville community gather together for a golf tournament and luncheon featuring inspirational keynote speaker Bob Woodruff, who was seriously injured by a roadside bomb near Tali, Iraq while reporting on for ABC’s “World News Tonight” in 2006. The first day of the Outdoor Classic will consist of a breathtaking hike and luncheon at the Mountain Air Country Club in Burnsville.

One out of every five veterans lives with a disability, and No Barriers Warriors is an organization committed to improving the lives of veterans with disabilities through empowering and transformative cost-free programs.

“The Cliffs has been a wonderful partner, both in creating an inspirational and meaningful program for their members, and in raising funds to support the cost-free programs of No Barriers Warriors. We change lives—but we can’t do it without the support of communities and partners like the ones we have at Walnut Cove,” Cindy Bean, Chief Development Officer for No Barriers USA, told us. “No Barriers Warriors serves over 200 veterans with disabilities each year, but also turn away hundreds more due to lack of funding. It’s only through the generosity of others that we can serve more,” she added.

The No Barriers Golf Classic is open to the public and is still accepting registration for four-person teams. A foursome is available at a $1,600 minimum donation and includes tickets to the keynote luncheon. The event is only open to those who register for the tournament. Click here to register, or contact Lynn Penny at 828.674.2045 or lpenny@cliffsliving.com.
