The Cliffs at Mountain Park

THE CLIFFS AT MOUNTAIN PARK

Coming in at number 43 on Golfweek’s list of the Top Residential Courses in the country is Gary Player’s masterpiece at The Cliffs at Mountain Park.

The course, which debuted in 2013, is the latest addition to The Cliffs’ repertoire of seven nationally-acclaimed championship courses and is a links-style masterpiece that zig-zags along the banks of the North Saluda River and folds delicately into the natural topography of the land. Native grasses and landscaping also define this delightful course — representative of Player’s dedication to conservation. It presents quite the challenge with 13 acres of bunkering throughout and The Joust, an exciting Par 5-3-4-5 finish.

The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards

THE CLIFFS AT KEOWEE VINEYARDS

The Tom Fazio-designed course at The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards landed at 48 on Golfweek’s Top Residential Courses list. With eight holes directly on the shores of shimmering Lake Keowee — and five offering splendid views of the Blue Ridge Mountains beyond — this picturesque course offers breathtaking views and exhilarating play.

The Cliffs at Walnut Cove

THE CLIFFS AT WALNUT COVE

Also making the list was the Jack Nicklaus Signature course at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove. This course features nine holes winding across open fields of former farmlands, with the back nine playing into native woodland vegetation, crisscrossing over and around mountain streams — it was also recognized by the PGA Tour as the only championship golf course to debut in tournament-ready conditions.

The Cliffs at Keowee Falls

THE CLIFFS AT KEOWEE FALLS

Named for Falls Creek, which winds its way through seven holes, the 160-acre Keowee Falls golf course stretches across mountainous terrain with numerous elevation changes, tree-lined fairways, streams, ponds and lengthy par 3s, all surrounded by woods and wildflowers. Bermuda grass tees and fairways with Champion ultra-dwarf greens keep things interesting on the course and helped earn this Nicklaus design a spot on Golfweek’s Top Residential Courses list.

The Cliffs at Keowee Springs

THE CLIFFS AT KEOWEE SPRINGS

Also making Golfweek’s list of the best residential courses in the country, the Keowee Springs golf course is one of Tom Fazio’s most scenic and uniquely designed courses. It incorporates three approachable loops of six holes and a set of family tees, designed to play six, 12 or 18 holes. Though it’s designed to accommodate families and beginning players, experienced golfers should be prepared: the back tees are every bit the championship golf experience.
