Kent Smith

President and Managing Partner,
Cliffs Land Partners

As President and Managing Partner of Cliffs Land Partners, Kent manages all real estate held by The Cliffs companies, including the management of existing properties for sale, creation of new products to be introduced and directional decisions regarding all undeveloped holdings.

A veteran in the luxury real estate and master planned community industries, Kent formerly served as a consultant to land management and development clients including Landfall, Pinehurst National, St. James Plantation and all seven of The Cliffs communities. Prior to returning to The Cliffs to serve in his current role, Kent was CEO of Global Development Resources, a publicly traded entity focused primarily on real estate financing, development and asset management.

An avid outdoorsman who enjoys fly fishing and hiking, Kent is passionate about The Cliffs lifestyle and the unique offering of seven fully amenitized planned community environments steeped in the spectacular of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

David Sawyer

President and Managing Partner,
Cliffs Clubs Partners

As President and Managing Partner of Cliffs Clubs Partners, David’s primary focus is leading The Cliffs Clubs team of 500+ associates to deliver an unparalleled lifestyle and grow membership through innovative hospitality, golf, culinary, wine, agronomy, retail, recreation, wellness and event experiences for members of The Cliffs and their guests.

David joined The Cliffs in 2007 as General Manager of The Cliffs Valley before leading the mountain region clubs and all food and beverage operations as Vice President of The Cliffs Clubs from 2011-2012. Prior to assuming his current role as President and Managing Partner of The Cliffs Clubs in 2014, David served as Chief Operating Officer from 2012-2014. His extensive background also includes positions at Westmoreland Country Club, ClubCorp and the Nemacolin Woodlands Golf Resort and Spa.

What David values most about The Cliffs is the people — the 7,000 members who have chosen The Cliffs’ seven mountain and lake club communities and the associates and team members that strive to become experts in their field and provide an incomparable experience.

Richard Hubble

Vice President of Real Estate Development

Richard manages the design and construction of amenities, homesites, roads, utilities and other infrastructure across The Cliffs’ seven communities, in addition to serving on the boards of several of The Cliffs’ Property Owner Associations and Architectural Review Board committees. He has worked from coast to coast and brings over 40 years of experience in high-end commercial development and construction to The Cliffs.

Richard is inspired by those who do good when no one is looking. A true family man, Richard and his wife of 40+ years have two sons and two beautiful granddaughters who live just across the street from him.

Amy Anderson

Vice President of Marketing

A marketing veteran with 18 years of industry experience, Amy’s focus as Vice President of Marketing is the strategy and execution of marketing strategies for corporate, real estate development, club membership, golf and weddings by identifying the best marketing programs to achieve lead generation goals and drive sales for all The Cliffs’ business objectives. A native South Carolinian, Amy has returned to her roots after more than a decade with Timbers Resorts in Colorado, where she served as Chief Marketing Officer.

Amy is a passionate photographer and horseback rider. She is inspired most by her twin three-year-old girls and their ability to laugh at anything and find joy in everything. Amy loves The Cliffs because of the indescribable beauty of this place.

Mary Campbell

Senior Director of Membership

Mary Haynsworth Campbell is the Director of Membership for The Cliffs, handling all closings and purchases of memberships and membership policy, as well as permitting, licensing, contract review and litigation matters for the company. She began her career with The Cliffs in 2012 as a corporate paralegal and project manager.

Mary is inspired by the members and staff that make every day here a new adventure.

Jewel Bunche

Director of Human Resources

As Director of Human Resources, Jewel oversees The Cliffs’ acquisition of talented associates across our seven communities and corporate office. She is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR), as well as a Society of Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SCHRM-SCP). Jewel’s past experience includes employment law, employment relations, training and benefits.

In her free time, Jewel enjoys dancing to Motown music and spending time with her husband and three children.

Amar Raina

Director of Information Technology

Amar brings more than two decades of information technology experience to his role as Director of IT. He leads a team tasked with supporting technology, security, automation and business processes for real estate and club operations at The Cliffs. He is adept at leadership, creating process efficiencies through lean practices and providing support with utmost integrity and compassion.

Amar was born in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains and finds the picturesque mountain and lake setting of The Cliffs reminiscent of home. He is inspired by the serene peacefulness embodied by The Cliffs and values the professional growth opportunities, peer support and freedom of creativity afforded to members of The Cliffs team.

Kevin Patterson

Corporate Controller

A member of The Cliffs team since 2015, Kevin serves as the Corporate Controller and oversees the accounting and finance function for both The Cliffs Clubs and Cliffs Land Partners. Most recently, Kevin served as Audit Manager at Grant Thornton LLP and Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP. He is a Certified Public Accountant in South Carolina and is active in the American Institute of CPAs and Hospitality Financial Technology Professionals (HFTP).

Kevin is a graduate of Clemson University and resides in nearby Easley, SC with his wife and two children. What Kevin loves most about The Cliffs is the three diverse regions and seven unique communities that keep The Cliffs the premier luxury golf destination in the Southeast.

Lauren Buckland

Director of Sales Administration

Lauren assists with the day to day operations for all of The Cliffs’ real estate offices, managing the administrative staff, coordinating and executing sales events and providing support to Kent Smith, the President and Managing Partner of Cliffs Land Partners. Lauren graduated from Clemson University in 2008 and upon graduation, joined The Cliffs team as a Listing Coordinator for the Mountain Region. She most recently served as Kent’s Executive Assistant for three years.

Lauren lives in her hometown of Spartanburg and when she’s not at work, is most likely spending time with her two young children. She believes the best thing about The Cliffs is the people: members, property owners and staff.

John Garcia

Director of Sales Operations

As Director of Sales Operations, John assists in leading and managing the day-to-day operations of The Cliffs Land Partners salesforce. He works closely with Richard Hubble in managing all Cliffs Land inventory and is an active board member of several of The Cliffs’ Architecture Review Boards and Property Owner Associations. He is a key liaison between our sales teams and club operations teams.

John has spent over 20 years in real estate sales, brokerage and development. He grew up in the private golf club business in the Pacific Northwest and brings a wealth of knowledge to The Cliffs. He is a self-described “pretty good” golfer, calls Greenville his home and is inspired by his three teenage daughters, which means his golf game always takes second place.

Morgan Eldridge

Director of Marketing and Creative Services

Morgan brings over two decades of experience in luxury real estate marketing to his role as Director of Marketing and Creative Services for The Cliffs. Prior to joining The Cliffs team, he served as Vice President or Director of Marketing for the developers of Kiawah Island, Christophe Harbour on St. Kitts, Doonbeg Golf Club in County Clare, Ireland; Pronghorn in Bend, Oregon; Tahoe Mountain Resorts communities in Northern California, and the Village at Wild Dunes on the coast of South Carolina.

Having been engaged in the luxury real estate industry for 20 years, Morgan has seen it all and feels that the people at The Cliffs make our seven communities unlike any others.

Kelly Edwards

Director of Corporate Events

Kelly Edwards has been with The Cliffs since 2006. In her current role as Corporate Events Director and Project Manager, she oversees a myriad of details relevant to The Cliffs’ sponsored events. Her focus includes several popular signature events throughout the Greenville and Asheville area. Kelly works with nearly 40 partners, creating and fostering community relationships while expanding the reach of The Cliffs brand to consumers. She coordinates with club directors, general managers, chefs, event coordinators, golf managers, recreation managers and The Cliffs marketing team to ensure four-star contributions to corporate-sponsored events. Kelly began career at The Cliffs on the real estate team, then lent her vast organizational skills to corporate management, serving as executive assistant. She has held her current position since 2014.
