Whether by mountain bike, road bike or even motorbike, the mountains and foothills surrounding The Cliffs are an awe-inspiring setting to explore on two wheels.
Greenville’s Paris Mountain State Park, just minutes from The Cliffs’ mountain region communities, is home to seven mountain bike-friendly trails totaling nearly 10 miles. Across the border, North Carolina’s DuPont State Recreational Forest and Pisgah National Forest—both just minutes from The Cliffs at Walnut Cove—are top mountain biking destinations with dozens of trails to enjoy.
If cycling the winding mountain roads is more your speed, you’re sure to be satisfied. There’s a reason Tour de France legend—and The Cliffs’ Director of Cycling—George Hincapie calls the area home. Take the family on a leisurely ride on the 33-mile Swamp Rabbit Trail that stretches from downtown Greenville to Travelers Rest, or go for a ride on one of these seven scenic cycling routes near The Cliffs.
Our mountain roads are fantastic fun on yet another type of bike: The Blue Ridge Parkway (known as “America’s favorite drive”) is exhilarating on a motorcycle, and you won’t find a better view of the spectacular autumn leaves.

Another great way to explore our stunning setting this season is on horseback.Saddle up and spend a day discovering the spectacular countryside surrounding The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards. The Keowee Vineyards Equestrian Center hosts regular rides for both those with and without their own horses, offering Cliffs members the opportunity to ride along more than 200 miles of scenic riding trails through Jocassee Gorges State Park, which National Geographic named one of the world’s “Last Great Places.”
