Brian Peeples

Brian joined The Cliffs in 2004 and has held a variety of positions in hospitality management. Brian began his career at The Cliffs as an Assistant Golf Professional at The Cliffs at Glassy and months later was promoted to Head Golf Professional at The Cliffs Valley. While at Valley, Brian assembled a strong team which executed over 100 events per year and played host to the BMW Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs, a PGA Tour sanctioned event. Brian opened our second lake community, The Cliffs at Keowee Falls, in 2007, and was soon promoted to General Manager. In 2012, Brian became Director of Golf Operations for The Cliffs. Brian oversees golf course maintenance and operations, retail, and golf instruction. Prior to his time at The Cliffs, Brian held the position of General Manager and Head Professional for Southerness Golf Club in Georgia. He's been a member of the PGA since 2001 and attended Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, GA. Brian's golf expertise, along with solid management skills, enable him to deliver the level of service our membership has come to expect at The Cliffs.

Bradley Fowler, PGA

Brad has been the Head Professional at Keowee Vineyards since August 2006. He relocated to The Cliffs from Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida where he had been Head Golf Professional at Marsh Landing Country Club. During his 9 years at Marsh Landing, the golf shop was recognized three times by Golf Digest as one of America’s Top 100 golf shops. Brad began his golf career at Mississippi State University in the PGA Professional Golf Management program and has a Bachelor’s of Business Administration Degree in Marketing. Brad became a Class A PGA Golf Professional in 1997.

Mike Williams, PGA

Mike Williams is the Head Golf Professional and Golf Ambassador at The Cliffs at Mountain Park, bringing 15 years of experience in the golf hospitality industry. His northern England childhood inspired Mike's love and passion for the links- style golf courses upon which the Mountain Park course was based. Before coming to the U.S., Mike graudated from De Montford University in England (Golf and Leisure Management) and trained in the Spanish Canary Islands. He was employed at The Renaissance PineIsle Resort in Atlanta, then The Ritz Carlton Orlando - where he received top industry awards - before coming to The Cliffs Valley.  Mike opened the Mountain Park golf course, which he helms today. 

Matt Pavia, PGA

Matt is dedicated to developing and growing the golf culture at The Cliffs Valley. His previous experience includes last three years at Jacksonville Country Club as the Head Professional where he executed an extensive member tournament schedule, as well as owned and managed his own golf shop. Prior to his time at Jacksonville Country Club, Matthew was the 1st Assistant Professional at Carolina Country Club in Raleigh, NC where he spent five years managing and executing quality tournaments at the historic 1910 Donald Ross design course for over 1,200 members. Matt is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA where he was introduced to the game of at Oakmont Country Club.

Paul Henriksen, PGA

Paul has been a PGA Class "A" golf professional with The Cliffs since 2000 where he first started at Glassy as Assistant Professional and was then promoted to Head Professional at Keowee Vineyards in 2001. In 2005, he was named the Head Professional at Walnut Cove. Prior to The Cliffs, Paul worked at Westchester Country Club in New York as an Assistant Professional.

Julian Bland, PGA

Julian Bland serves as Head Professional and Golf Manager at Keowee Falls. Julian has been with The Cliffs full time since May 2007. While a student at Clemson University, he worked with The Cliffs as a Professional Golf Management (PGM) intern. After graduating, he joined our lake region team as an Assistant Professional and most recently has been responsible for the daily operations at Keowee Springs.

John Mitchell, PGA

John Mitchell joined The Cliffs’ team as the First Assistant at Keowee Falls in April 2007, and was promoted to Head Golf Professional/Interim General Manager at Keowee Springs in June 2008. Prior to joining The Cliffs, John spent seven years at Pebble Beach Resorts as an Assistant Golf Professional at Pebble Beach Golf Links and First Assistant Professional at The Links at Spanish Bay. He began his career as a PGA Apprentice at Moss Creek Golf Club on Hilton Head Island. John was elected into membership of the PGA of America in 2002 and served as a member of the 2009 PGA President's Council on Growing the Game.

Jim Evans
Senior Agronomist
The Cliffs Clubs

Jim is the Senior Agronomist for The Cliffs. He is also the Superintendent at Keowee Falls. Prior to The Cliffs he spent four years at The Dormie Club in Pinehurst, North Carolina, one of the premier golf courses here in the south. At Dormie, he led the construction process, grow in and the opening of the course. Prior to that, Jim spent 10 years at Augusta National Golf Club in varying positions working his way up to Senior Assistant Superintendent where he was responsible for the daily operations up to and including The Masters Tournament. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Jim arrives at The Cliffs with over 20 years of turf experience, specifically with bentgrass greens.

Sean Kennedy, PGA

Sean began his golf career in 1993 and has been a PGA Class A Golf Professional since 1997. He comes to The Cliffs at Glassy after ten years working in Atlanta, most recently as the Director of Golf at The Country Club of the South. His career background also includes serving as a Golf Professional at Cherokee Town and Country, Hartefeld National Golf Club and Osprey Point Golf Club. He is a graduate of the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Mathematics.
