Home for the Holidays

Candlelight Christmas Evenings at the Biltmore Estate
November 3 – January 5 – See Website for Hours – Biltmore Estate, Asheville
Biltmore House greets you with the soft glow of luminaries and holiday lights on a towering Norway spruce. Inside, thousands of ornaments on dozens of Christmas trees reflect the flicker of candlelight, firelight and twinkle lights.
Winter Lights at the North Carolina Arboretum
November 16 – December 31 – 6:00 -10:00 p.m. Daily – North Carolina Arboretum, Asheville
Walk through an outdoor winter wonderland and enjoy unique displays and landscapes composed of more than half-a-million holiday lights. Listen to the sounds of your favorite holiday tunes or enjoy a cup of holiday-inspired cocoa, cider or beer. Proceeds generated from Winter Lights help support the Arboretum’s educational programs, exhibits and year-round.
Ice on Main

Gobbler Open Golf Tournament

Join your neighbors for a “Gobble-Gobble” better ball tournament on the Walnut Cove golf course with Thanksgiving spirits at the Turnhouse during play, followed by light appetizers and awards following play.

Enjoy the amazing gingerbread creations at the 26th Annual National Gingerbread House Competition at The Omni Grove Park Inn. Except for the base, the extravagant entries are constructed entirely of edible materials. You won’t believe your eyes!
Campfire Building Basics
Thursday, November 29 – 6:30 pm – The Cliffs at Keowee Falls Wellness Center
Join Kyle Henry from The Cliffs Exploration team as he reveals all his secrets for starting a campfire. He will discuss some unique items that can be used, different techniques, and fire safety. Join us as we socialize, learn, play campfire games, and snack on hot chocolate and s’mores.
Christmas in the Park
Friday, November 30 – 5:00 – 7:00 pm – Trailblazer Park, Travelers Rest
Bring the kids for a ride on the Polar Express Train and enjoy a free cup of hot chocolate and cookies. Santa will be in the pavilion ready for photos and there will be festive music, Christmas caroling and food trucks on hand. This holiday event in nearby Travelers Rest is the perfect time to kick off your holiday and Christmas celebrating!
Festive Flotilla Folly
Saturday, December 1 – 5:30 pm – The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards Lakehouse Docks
Get out and float your boat! Find a boat, gather friends and get decorating, or view the parade of festively decorated boats as they travel to the Keowee Vineyards Pavilion Docks, where General Manager Jim Killion, Chef Francis and their elves will happily hand out a hot toddy to boat participants.
Keowee Springs Holiday Social

On the 1st Hole of Christmas my Golf Pros gave to me… Each hole will have a different format with a Christmas theme in this unique 12-hole event. Couples can arrange their own foursome or ask to be paired with another couple.
