The Walnut Cove Members Association (WCMA) — a 501(c)3 organization comprised of members of The Cliffs at Walnut Cove committed to giving back to the Asheville and greater Western North Carolina community — last month awarded $320,000 to 36 deserving local organizations. These 2018 grants bring WCMA’s 12-year total to over $1.2 million distributed to organizations in Western North Carolina!
The funds granted to 36 local organizations in December 2018 were raised during WCMA’s record ‘Weekend of Giving’ last June. The Weekend of Giving brings together more than 200 members of WCMA, as well as sponsors and local business leaders, for a long weekend of fundraising events that fund each winter’s grants to organizations that make a difference in Western North Carolina.
2018’s grant recipients include 36 foundations that support the arts, educational initiatives, human services and more in Asheville and surrounding areas. To see a full list of the 2018 grant recipients, visit WCMA’s website.
