lake region

the cliffs’ lake communities

This is land that invites exploration and exudes tranquility. Fed by hundreds of clear-spring streams, waterfalls and creeks, and framed by the rolling hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Lake Keowee provides 18,000 acres of purity not found in any other body of water east of the Mississippi. Our three lake communities – The Cliffs at Keowee Springs, The Cliffs at Keowee Falls and The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards – are uniquely connected by boat and offer ideal lakeside living in harmony with the area’s natural balance and beauty.

Gary Player calls this area “The Switzerland of America.” Its rolling hills, kaleidoscope of colors and mild temperatures intrigued him enough to not only build his first Cliffs golf course here, but to move The Player Group’s North American headquarters and build a family residence here as well. Our three mountain communities – The Cliffs at Mountain Park, The Cliffs Valley and The Cliffs at Glassy – are encircled by thousands of acres of protected forests, offer similar, yet distinctly unique elevations and personalities, and are a short 20-minute drive from Greenville, South Carolina, where a vibrant downtown area features shopping, dining and a focus on fine arts.

You wouldn’t know that Asheville, North Carolina, one of the South’s most vibrant towns (Relocate-America ranks it #1 of “Top 100 Places to Live” in America, and National Geographic Adventure named it “#1 Adventure Town in America”) is just outside our gates because Pisgah National Forest stands sentinel on all sides, giving members an enjoyable “illusion of seclusion.” Bordered by “America’s Favorite Drive,” the Blue Ridge Parkway, The Cliffs at Walnut Cove enjoys a scenic and privileged access to Asheville’s award-winning downtown.
