Winner of numerous awards, including Best of Houzz 2018, this wonderful example of Mountain Modern architecture sits proudly on top of one of Walnut Cove’s most beautiful ridge tops. Saved to over 57,000 Houzz idea books, the master bath with its stylish tile and inviting fireplace is only one of the many “wow” factors of this incredible home.
Blue Ridge Beauty
This elegant English Country custom design boasts a two-story curved stone wall of windows that adds drama to the great room, and many thoughtful details throughout give this mountain estate a luxurious European flair. The expansive windows and two-story Juliet balcony showcase the homeowners' love of fine fabrics and create a beautiful, warm and inviting home that has hosted many fun Walnut Cove parties.
Sustainable Retreat
Designed and built by John and Nancy Thompson as their personal residence, this passive solar design was the first certified “green” WNC Healthy Built Home in Walnut Cove. Thirty-two feet of south-facing windows provide tons of natural light and ambient heating in winter months, and many state-of-the-art energy-efficient features and materials were incorporated into the open, airy design.
Elegant Rustic
This updated mountain-rustic summer home reflects the owner’s love of art and is the perfect backdrop for her extensive collection. The custom design perfectly captures rustic mountain elements, such as a massive stone fireplace separating the dining and great room, while incorporating more modern touches, such as a glass mantle, handcrafted iron railings and transitional lighting.
