The Cliffs at Keowee Falls Hosts 2019 Clemson Invitational for Fourth Year

On Friday, April 5, 2019, The Cliffs at Keowee Falls opened its course to players across the country to compete in the 2019 Clemson Invitational. For the past four years, owners and members at The Cliffs have volunteered their time and homes to help players meet and succeed during the three-day tournament. This year’s strong competition included four teams ranked within the top 25 of Division 1 Men’s Golf: Duke, Georgia Tech, Clemson, and University of Georgia, and three of the top 20 players in the country: UGA player Trent Phillips (#5), Duke player Alex Smalley (#7), and Georgia Tech player Luke Schneiderjans (#17).

Georgia Tech, ranked 8th in the nation, ultimately dominated the field. The Yellow Jackets claimed an 11-stroke victory at 52 under par, the lowest 54-hole score this year in Division I golf. The team shot 19-under during Sunday’s final round, winning its fifth tournament of the year.

Duke University, ranked ninth in the nation, finished the tournament in second place at 41 under par. They were followed by #14 University of Georgia at 34 under par, and #17 Clemson at 28 under par.

The Cliffs congratulates the young men who competed in the spring tournament, and our members look forward to welcoming familiar and new faces again, during next year’s Clemson Invitational.
