Austin Ernst—LPGA Tour player and The Cliffs’ LPGA Brand Ambassador—recently brought her annual Charity Pro-Am benefitting the local domestic violence organization Safe Harbor to The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards, along with several of her friends and fellow Tour players.
Though the day started off foggy and damp, by the end of the round, the sun was shining and the winning team—pro golfer Jessica Korda and teammates Wade Marchman, Riley Marchman, Kyle Bradley and James Eastmead—were smiling. Jessica and team brought in a score of 53 on the Vineyards course, followed by the team led by Morgan Pressel with 55, and Austin’s team with a score of 56. Teams led by LPGA Players Jodi Ewart Shadoff, Alison Lee, Amy Anderson, Michelle Wie, Marina Alex, Ashlan Ramsay and Brittany Lang followed.
But Austin’s Pro-Am was more about playing for a good cause than just good scores. The money raised by participants benefitted Safe Harbor, the Greenville-based domestic violence prevention and protection organization. Safe Harbor provides a continuum of services for victims of domestic violence, including a safe emergency shelter, legal advocacy and more, as well as educational and preventative services in the Upstate.
