This year, Greenville, South Carolina and Asheville, North Carolina are ranked at numbers 10 and 14, respectively, confirming what we’ve known all along: the western Carolinas is the perfect place to call home.

Here you’ll find Furman and Bob Jones Universities, as well as awesome cultural amenities like the Greenville Zoo and the Greenville Drive, a Red Sox affiliate team.
Asheville Ranked #14 Best Place to Live in U.S.
With a population just under 100,000, Asheville provides a lot of bang for your buck. Known primarily for its love of beer and good food, Asheville is the world’s only Foodtopian Society and has an unparalleled foodie scene. The city is also located in the Blue Ridge Mountains and is home to the world-famous Biltmore Estate and stunning Omni Grove Park Inn.
