Time on Lake Keowee offers a natural blend of activity and ease. Set out by kayak or paddleboard, spend the day exploring with family, or enjoy wake sports on open water. With access to a variety of watercraft and a team ready to assist, every outing can be shaped to match your pace—whether relaxed or more adventurous.

From the waters of Lake Keowee to nearby rivers and mountain streams, fishing at The Cliffs offers a range of experiences—including fly fishing in some of the region’s most scenic settings. Whether on the lake or in moving water, time spent fishing is as much about the surroundings as it is the catch.

Each month, The Cliffs Outdoor Pursuits team introduces members to a wide range of hiking experiences, both within the communities and beyond. From local trails to nearby destinations—including dozens of waterfall hikes within a short drive—each outing offers a new way to explore the surrounding landscape.
Cycling
CYCLING
Led by Director of Cycling and 17-time Tour de France finisher George Hincapie, road cycling at The Cliffs offers a dynamic mix of challenging climbs and scenic routes. Mountain and gravel biking excursions, led by the Outdoor Pursuits team, expand the experience to include trail systems and nearby mountain bike parks—creating a range of opportunities for both performance and exploration.
SPORTSMAN TRAIL & THE HAMMER
SPORTSMAN TRAIL & THE HAMMER
The Sportsman Trail at Keowee Springs offers a unique, multi-skill outdoor experience. This 12-station course challenges participants across a range of disciplines, including axe throwing, slingshot, archery, and shooting. Nearby, The Hammer disc golf course adds another layer of play—creating a dynamic and engaging test of accuracy and skill.
Equestrian
EQUESTRIAN
The Equestrian Center at Keowee Vineyards provides access to more than 200 miles of riding trails within the Jocassee Gorges Wilderness Area. With training and riding rings, well-appointed stables, and experienced staff, both riders and their horses are supported in an environment designed for exploration and care
