Southern Living Idea Home
Buchanan Construction was honored to be selected as the builder of the annual Southern Living Idea House in 2020. Designed to resemble a storied family farmhouse from times gone by, the home was built to appear as though the center cabin was constructed first, and the smaller spaces surrounding were added on over time as the family expanded and their budget allowed. Functionally, this created a unique floor plan with open-concept living spaces and a multitude of cozy hideaways. For the interiors, a moody palette of deep greens and earthy tones, historic furnishings, and hand-made textiles create the cozy atmosphere you expect from a historic home.
