We are thrilled to announce that The Cliffs at Walnut Cove will be hosting the fifth annual LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Academy on July 17-19.
The Girls Golf Academy—the annual flagship event of the LPGA-USGA Girls Golforganization—brings girls ages 6-13 from around the country together for two life-changing days of golf instruction, skill-building, socialization and more.
65 girls will be attending this year’s Academy at Walnut Cove and will enjoy two days of creative and engaging activities and instructed to improve their golf skills while instilling a lifelong love of the game.
The 65 participants come from some of the 360 Girls Golf sites around the country, and several girls have been awarded grants thanks to contributions provided by the USGA Women’s Committee members, helping to make this event accessible and affordable for all girls. 15 top LPGA Teaching Professionals will be working with the girls to build proper stance, swing, and more, led by Breanne Hall, Head Golf Coach for UNC-Asheville’s first-ever women’s golf team.
But the Girls Golf Academy goes beyond teaching young golfers skills to improve their game. Girls are taught vital live skills using the “Five E’s”—empower, enrich, engage, exercise, energize—to inspire them to build confidence, find their own voice, and identify their unique talents.
Special guest and World Golf Hall of Famer Nancy Lopez will also be joining us at this year’s Academy to give an exhibition clinic. Join us in extending the warmest welcome to the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Academy and Ms. Nancy Lopez!
