Fred S. Ridley is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cliffs Club Partners. He is the past President of the United States Golf Association and Tournament Committee Chairman of The Masters. He is a partner with Foley & Lardner LLP, and national chair of Foley's Real Estate Practice, co-chair of the Hospitality, Resort & Golf Industry Team, and a member of the Food and Sports Industry Teams. His practice is focused in the areas of commercial and planned unit real estate development and finance, golf and recreational amenity and resort development, and multifamily/condominium developments. Mr. Ridley has over 25 years of experience in representing developers of high-end, single-family and multifamily real estate projects and has been lead counsel to several of the most recognized waterfront developments in Florida. In connection with these projects, he has coordinated all acquisition and financing issues, environmental and coastal permitting, and negotiations of entitlements with local and state governmental entities.
Hugh Connerty has partnered with Arendale Holdings and its sister companies for ten years. Prior to joining the Arendale organization, he completed a successful twenty-five year career in the restaurant industry. Mr. Connerty was involved in opening over 1,600 restaurants in 23 countries. He has also been involved with several exclusive golf club acquisitions and luxury golf community developments. Mr. Connerty was the original franchisee of the Outback Steakhouse Company and served as the President of Outback Steakhouse International. He was also the founder of Longhorn Steakhouse. He served in the United States Army for six and half years earning the rank of Captain before changing careers. Hugh continues to be a visionary and focused leader and has a passion for the golf industry. He is a giving philanthropist supporting several non-profit organizations throughout the United States and South Africa. For the past ten years, Mr. Connerty has served on the President's Council of the Betty Ford Center. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Goizueta School of Business at Emory University.
Dr. Elaine R. Wedral and her husband, Bill, are members at The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards. She has served on the Vineyards Advisory Executive Committee and the Finance Committee. Until her recent retirement, she was the President of the International Life Sciences Institute in North America. She was President of Nestlé R&D Center, Inc. in New Milford, Connecticut, President of Nestle R&D N.A. and Head of Nestlé Food Service Systems worldwide from 1999 to 2006. Prior to that, she held a variety of technical positions at Nestlé. Dr. Wedral holds 40 patents in food processing, food nutrition and ingredient areas, and is on the editorial board of Food Processing Magazine and Wellness Foods magazine. She received her Ph.D. from Cornell University in Food Biochemistry, an M.S. in Food Microbiology and a B.S. from Purdue University in Biochemistry. She serves on the board of the Women's Global Health Institute, and continues to work with several key industry/university-related groups in an advisory capacity.
John Mikula and his wife, Judy, purchased property at The Cliffs in 1999 and moved to Glassy full time in 2007. He is the President and founder of Mikor LLC, a management consulting firm located in Greenville, South Carolina. John is currently consulting with The Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce as Senior VP for Business Retention and Expansion. He has significant business experience in Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing Operations, Strategic Planning, Business Development, and Research and Engineering. His experience also includes positions with Benedictine University in Naperville Illinois, where he functioned as Associate Dean of the Business School and as a professor in the MBA and EMBA programs. John has also worked at Northern Illinois University, Cinergy, the Department of Defense, Continental Can, Continental Group, PepsiCo, and Sonoco Products Company. John is the holder of four United States and international patents, the US Air Force Commendation Medal, a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management/ Electrical Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration.
