Swimming
Swimming
Summer is for swimming, and what better way to enjoy the water than with the Carolina mountains as the backdrop? There are many private swimming areas where you can take a dip and cool off from the heat. Trust us, every member of the family will enjoy making a splash on Lake Keowee –– maybe even your four-legged friend, too.
Paddle Boarding
PADDLE BOARDING
Paddle boarding is a great way to enjoy the lake while getting your daily workout in. This sport consists of standing on a paddleboard, similar to that of a surfboard, while paddling to propel yourself through the water. It may take a little getting used to, but once you’ve found your balance, you won’t want to stop.
Kayaking
KAYAKING
A great way to enjoy the water while staying active is to go kayaking. With more than 300 miles of shoreline along Lake Keowee, there’s plenty to explore. You can either go out on the lake solo, or grab a friend and share the experience in a tandem kayak.
Boating
Boating
Whether you’re going out on a pontoon boat for a serene sunset cruise or taking a tow boat out for more extreme water sports, Lake Keowee is the perfect place to enjoy any type of boating. The lake’s size makes boating a great way to easily move around the water, and a fun water sport the family can take advantage of year round.
Jet Skiing
Jet Skiing
If you’re searching for something to get your adrenaline pumping, you should consider jet skiing on Lake Keowee. Jet skiing is a great way to enjoy the water and take in the mountain views that surround the lake. Jet skis can go quite fast, often around 50 mph, so be sure to hold on tight!
Wakeboarding
Wakeboarding
One adrenaline-pumping activity to try is wakeboarding. This physically-demanding water sport requires balance, coordination and strength. Once you get the hang of it, you can put your skills to the test with impressive jumps and other tricks. If wakeboarding is too difficult, give tubing a try for a similar, less demanding experience.
