7 Reasons You’ll Fall in Love with Fall at The Cliffs

Oct 05, 2016

Our beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain setting is spectacular year-round, but it truly comes alive in the fall. When the air is crisp and the leaves have changed, you’ll find yourself itching to explore every corner of The Cliffs’ seven clubs and the beguiling Blue Ridge beyond our gates. Soak up the season with these autumn adventures at The Cliffs.

Keowee Vineyards
Book a trail ride at the Equestrian Center and take a ride through the Jocassee Gorges Wilderness Area to experience on horseback what National Geographic called one of the “World’s Last Great Places.”

Keowee Falls
If you would rather explore on two legs instead of four, take to the hiking trails at The Cliffs at Keowee Falls, where you’ll find miles and miles of trails to conquer and endless waterfalls to discover.

Walnut Cove
Autumn weekends at Walnut Cove are all about wining, dining and dancing! Enjoy Walnut Cove’s spectacular setting—surrounded by the glory of the Pisgah National Forest—with food and wine events on the Tavern Terrace.

Valley
The winding mountain roads within and surrounding The Cliffs Valley are a cyclist’s dream—made even better by the opportunity to ride with Tour de France legend George Hincapie.

Glassy
Sitting 3,200 feet atop Glassy Mountain, the stunning Glassy Chapel is an awe-inspiring setting for a mountaintop yoga practice—just bring your mat and a friend!

Keowee Springs
Explore Keowee by kayak on paddle tours led by The Cliffs’ Outdoor Adventure Specialists. You’ll discover the quiet coves of Lake Keowee while immersed in the autumn splendor of the surrounding mountains.

Mountain Park
Spend an afternoon picnicking or fishing at the Greene Pond Pavilion. Take the gravel road directly to the Pavilion—or ride or hike the nearly 2-mile Super Trail to the Pavilion for a dose of fresh mountain air.

And, of course, just outside The Cliffs gates are endless autumn opportunities: take a drive along the jaw-dropping Blue Ridge Parkway, go apple-picking at one of a dozen nearby orchards or indulge at one of the area’s fall festivals.
