And Countless Memories

At The Cliffs, we want to thank you for being a part of our year. Whether you are a new member or have been here for years, our goal is to bring you unexpected surprises and moments to share with your friends and family. Our staff pulled together some of their favorite memories of the year. We can’t wait to show you what we have planned for you in 2023.

Glassy

“I would have to say the Golf Course Maintenance parade on the last day of Men’s Member-Guest was pretty special. Just seeing all the guys driving through getting applause and a standing ovation for all of their hard work. It was a special moment. Members even crossed their drivers for the team to drive under.”

“My most incredible moment was hosting the first ever Pickleball Club Championships in September in the history of The Cliffs. It was an amazing turnout with 32 mixed doubles, 32 men’s doubles, and 28 ladies doubles! Very proud moment!”

Valley

“This year was bittersweet for us at Valley. This was the first year hosting the Ben Wright Member-Member Tournament without Ben Wright. He passed away in August 2021. In his memory, his wife, Helen, and daughter, Margarette, along with his grandkids, joined us at Valley for the opening round. The tournament started with our members cheering “Yes sir,” something you would always hear Ben saying, and we still put Ben’s seat out for him. His “starters chair” was sitting on the first tee like normal, honoring his memory.”

Mountain Park

“We have had so many amazing moments this year at Mountain Park, but my favorite moment of 2022 would have to be this year’s Ladies’ Member-Guest Tournament, The Wildflower. It was the inaugural year and we had excellent participation. It was a great experience to see our ladies having such a great time on the course and at the newly renovated Cabin! From the shag dancing, and the delicious food served by our culinary team, to our frozen adult cocktail pouches served on the course, it was an excellent showing for a first tournament for the members and for the staff. And the ladies were treated to a handmade Tin Cup necklace tee gift, made of sterling and pearls. No better way to spend a few days with the ladies of Mountain Park.”

Keowee Springs

“By far my favorite moment of 2022 was our Men’s Member-Guest Stag Night!  Our team of managers brainstormed and created The Field of Dreams with activities from basketball free throws, kicking field goals, and cornhole to a finale of Wiffle Ball Home Run Derby! Watching all of our members and guests reminisce about their sporting days was exciting to be a part of.”

Keowee Falls

“This year’s Stumphouse Invitational had an amazing buzz and energy that made it the highlight of 2022 for Keowee Falls. Kudos to the membership for making this our first-ever sold-out Men’s Member-Guest with 84 players who participated in a pair-mutual betting aspect, golf shots off the back porch, and a final round shootout that named Terry & Ben Jacobson the 2022 Stumphouse Champions.  Conditions were firm and fast, making it a challenging course and an exciting finish. Six months later, players are still talking about the food  on King Crab, Tomahawk steaks, lobster mac & cheese, and a macadamia nut pie. We can’t wait to have Stumphouse in 2023!”

Walnut Cove

“Fourth of July weekend was definitely a highlight for me.  With the 4th being my one-year anniversary with Walnut Cove, this was the first full year being able to use the newly renovated front terrace as well as the event lawn.  We ended up having well over 200 members for a full day of activities which was capped off with Fireworks on the driving range.  The team did a tremendous job and it was truly amazing to see everyone having such a great time.”

Keowee Vineyards

“My favorite moment at Keowee Vineyards in 2022 was when our construction crew rolled in to begin our Clubhouse bar renovation project. I know the members at Keowee Vineyards  have been looking forward to this moment for many years now and it is an honor to get this project underway. Thanks to the efforts of the man in this photo and his crew, we remain on schedule to complete this job. South Street Partners has allowed us to stretch the original vision, and the original budget, to deliver a more wholesome clubhouse renovation project instead of the bar-only renovation that was originally planned.”
