This Spring, Enjoy The Cliffs to the Fullest

7 Spring Events at The Cliffs’ Communities

With the long winter months finally behind us, it’s time to get outside and enjoy the warm sunshine. After all, spring is one of the most beautiful times of the year in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Each spring, we are reminded of why The Cliffs is so fortunate to call this corner of the Carolinas home. The rolling mountains that span as far as the eye can see and fields speckled with colorful wildflowers make this region look like something from a storybook.

To make the most of the gorgeous season, our community hosts a number of member events at each of our seven mountain and lake communities. Let’s take a look at a few of our member events happening this spring at The Cliffs.

1. Ride with the Pros | March 17, 2022

Location: The Cliffs at Mountain Park

With cool mountain breezes and blossoming trees, spring is the perfect time of the year to dust off your bike and enjoy a long ride along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our ‘Ride with The Pros’ event is the perfect chance to start the season off on a high note. The comfortably-paced ride will be approximately 25 miles long, and will conclude in downtown Travelers Rest.

The most exciting aspect of this event is that members will have the chance to ride alongside Cycling Coaches Vance Ferrigno as well as professional cyclists George Hincapie, Christian Vande Velde, and Bobby Julich. After the event, join the crew for lunch before heading back home.

2. Crafternoon | March 23, 2022

Location: The Cliffs at Glassy

Spend the afternoon letting your creativity run wild at our ‘crafternoon’ event held at The Cliffs at Glassy. This spring, we will be hosting a candle making workshop, so you can learn about the art of candle making. During this event, members can enjoy choosing from their favorite scents to make their own signature handmade candles. These elegant accessories will add delightful fragrances to your luxury mountain home.

3. Wildflowers with Bruce! | March 24, 2022

Locations: The Cliffs at Keowee Falls, The Cliffs at Keowee Springs, and The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards

As the wildflowers start to blossom throughout the Carolinas, hiking through the Blue Ridge Mountains is one of the best ways to experience the season. This year at The Cliffs, members have the opportunity to hike alongside SC Master Naturalist Bruce Lampright and view some of the early blooming flowers and surrounding flora. The hike takes place at Melrose Falls, one of his favorite areas to enjoy the explosion of colors that seem to have appeared overnight. The hike is a one-mile, beginner-friendly trail and should take about two hours to complete.

4. Sportsman Trail Outing | March 25, 2022

Location: The Cliffs at Keowee Springs

Be one of the first to participate in the new Sportsman Trail at The Cliffs at Keowee Springs. The course is comprised of 12 stations that test your weapons skills. These activities include axe throwing, knife throwing, pellet shooting, and slingshots, along with multiple forms of archery. Designed to imitate the hunting experience, the archery stations offer deer, boar, turkey, and bear archery, as well as a Robin Hood archery. The Sportsman trail is about a quarter-mile long and is an exciting way to enjoy mountain living. This thrilling event will last approximately two hours.

5. Brew and Bike | March 26, 2022

Location: The Cliffs at Walnut Cove

Grab your mountain bike and join us for an exciting day spent on the trails! Our Brew and Bike event will take place at Black Mountain Loop trail in Pisgah National Forest. The 12.5-mile loop is an advanced trail known for its steep downhill –– dropping over 1,900 feet from its highest point.

After the ride, members will have the opportunity to grab food and drinks at Oskar Blues, located a short drive from the trail. Founded in 2002 in Colorado, this brewery features a wide selection of craft beers, hard seltzers, and ciders. The venue also has live music and its very own food truck, the CHUBwagon, parked at the brewery daily serving burgers and fries.
