Keowee Falls Food & Wine Festival + Chef’s Table Uncorked

Members congregated to enjoy a weekend of collaboration, southern-influenced cuisine, and refined wine as Keowee Falls hosted their inaugural Food & Wine Festival on March 9 – 10, 2024. As members strolled through the halls and porch, they were greeted by five enticing food stations, each operated by chefs and their team showcasing culinary expertise. From succulent seafood to savory meats, there was something to tempt every palate.

Representing three communities at The Cliffs – Executive Chef Shawn Creef and Sous Chef David Jensen from Keowee Falls, Executive Chef Francis Turck from Keowee Vineyards, and Executive Chef Ryan Rowley from Valley – plus Hotel Domestique and Restaurant 17 executive chef Haydn Shaak, curated five festival food stations that were accompanied by wine tastings, local art exhibits, and cooking demonstrations. Each station comprised three carefully curated wines expertly paired with delectable dishes. Knowledgeable wine representatives stood ready to guide guests through the tasting experience, offering insights into the origins and characteristics of each wine.

To round out the weekend’s events, the talented culinarians from Keowee Falls partnered with Chef Shaak to serve a seven-course “Chef’s Table Uncorked” feast featuring a lion’s mane mushroom dish, lobster & grits, lardo scallops, rabbit agnolotti, oxtail Cappellacci, Akaushi striploin, and a chocolate & cherries dessert.
