A Smokin’ Showdown at Mountain Park
At The Cliffs, great food and even better company are always on the menu.. This year, The Cliffs at Mountain Park debuted a brand-new event that’s already set the bar high for future traditions: The Battle of the Directors Pig Roast. With over 150 members in attendance, Golf Superintendent Jed Fedor and Director of Facilities Scott Smathers went head-to-head in a spirited culinary showdown. Armed with their best recipes and a shared love of perfectly roasted pork, these two leaders at The Cliffs turned up the heat—quite literally—in a contest that had everyone buzzing.
The Beginning of a Tradition
It began as a lighthearted competition between Jed and Scott, each excited to showcase their skills outside their typical roles. They approached the challenge with their own unique styles, each aiming to impress members with their roasting techniques and flavor profiles.
Votes were cast, and over 150 members made their voices heard. The competition was tight, a true testament to Jed and Scott’s talent.
And the Winner is…
When the final votes were tallied, Jed Fedor emerged victorious, earning the title of Mountain Park’s First Pig Roast Champion. His dedication to crafting a perfectly balanced roast won over the majority of attendees, though Scott’s bold flavors made it a close call.
Both Jed and Scott brought their best to the competition, and the real winners were the members who enjoyed a evening of camaraderie and culinary excellence.
