Nine & Dine at Walnut Cove

Throughout May, as members poured back into the region, The Cliffs at Walnut Cove hosted their first immensely popular monthly Nine & Dine event of the season. More than 70 members signed up as couples and played nine holes on eight-person teams in an alternating shot scramble competition. Friends were reunited on the course after months apart, and the friendly competition was enjoyed by all.

After sinking their final putts, members made their way to the Turnhouse Terrace for the “dine” portion of Nine & Dine. The evening’s menu consisted of barbecue’s greatest hits with a twist: tender chicken, succulent pulled pork, and all the fixings—baked beans, cornbread, and more—all cooked up in Walnut Cove’s wood-fired oven on the Turnhouse Terrace. Members enjoyed each other’s company and the delicious spread with tasty libations and a picturesque view of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Walnut Cove hosts Nine and Dine once each month from March through October. Each event features a different menu theme and is cooked in the wood-fired oven. June’s event featured a Mexican fiesta with various enchiladas, carne asada, taco salad, and a bevy of other mouth-watering dishes. July’s upcoming event will be an Independence Day theme.
