How We are Celebrating The Masters Golf Tournament at The Cliffs

The Masters is one of the most prestigious and iconic events in the world of professional golf. Held annually in Augusta, Georgia, the tournament attracts the best golfers from around the globe to compete for the coveted Green Jacket. 

With a rich history dating back to 1934, The Masters Golf Tournament has become synonymous with tradition, excellence, and sportsmanship. From the immaculately manicured greens of Augusta National Golf Club to the tense drama of the final round, The Masters is a truly unique and unforgettable event for players and fans alike. 

Here at The Cliffs, we are excited to celebrate the sport of golf with our own spin on The Masters Golf Tournament traditions. Let’s take a look at a few of the private events happening this year at The Cliffs.

The Cliffs at Keowee Falls 

The Cliffs at Keowee Falls holds two signature events, the first being held the Wednesday before The Masters begins. For this tournament, our course is turned into a 18-hole par three course. Members pair up in two-player teams and compete in a scramble to decide our winners. But, the course is anything but traditional! For instance, players will hit from the championship tees on hole #2, over the cabin, to the green of #4. 

The second event is one of Keowe Falls signature events of the year –– The Monday After The Masters Pro-Am. Just as the name implies, it is played the Monday after The Masters. It is a great opportunity for our professional staff to play with our members in an exciting format – a 3×2 scramble. 

During play, we will have an Augusta-inspired snack station at our turnhouse to tide you over until your round is complete. Once you finish up, head to the scoreboard by the clubhouse to turn in your scorecard and then head to the porch where Executive Chef Shawn Creef and his team will have heavy hors d’oeuvres prepared as we see who our big winners are!

Our Superintendent, Jim Evans, spent time as Augusta National’s Lead Assistant and still works at The Masters Golf Tournament every year! 

The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards

This year  The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards is bringing the Master’s to Men’s Day. This event will host a Par 3 event after main play. The team is adding getting players into the feel with plenty of yellow decor.

The Cliffs at Glassy 

The Cliffs at Glassy is taking a fun approach to the Masters this year. Right before the big event, Glassy’s golf course will have just gone under aerification. Since the greens won’t be as pristine as those in Augusta, our parody event will include obstacles and equipment in the way offering a fun challenge for players of all skill levels. 

The Cliffs Valley 

Meanwhile, at The Cliffs Valley golf course, members will have the opportunity to participate in a Masters Monday Par-3 Shootout, featuring a course set up by the Valley professional staff. The event takes place Monday, April 3rd and will be a Chapman-Hit-Switch-Choose format, with teams of two and two Flights –– a couples flight and open flight. Players will have the opportunity to win credit book prizes and enjoy “Masters Themed” food after the round.
