Caribbean beats and tastes unite
On Saturday, May 25, the Reggae Rhythm Bash took place at the Lake Club at The Landing, bringing together music and food for a celebration of Caribbean culture. The event was organized to showcase the vibrant flavors and rhythms of the islands as a kickoff to Memorial Day Weekend!
The turnout was impressive, with over 400 attendees filling The Cliffs at Keowee Springs outdoor venue and pools. The air was alive with the rhythmic beats of reggae music performed by Mickey Mills- a native of Trinidad and Tobago. The highlight of the culinary offerings was the jerk chicken, slow-cooked to perfection and infused with a blend of aromatic spices. The plantain salad, with its sweet and savory notes, also proved to be a crowd-pleasing favorite.
The bar’s highlight of the day was the Mango MoTito. This cocktail, crafted with Tito’s vodka, featured tasting notes of mango and lime. Another favorite cocktail proved to be the Banana Cabana. This rum-based beverage with hints of coconut and pineapple contributed to the attendees’ feeling like they were having a relaxing day in the tropics.
Between the cuisine, live music, and beverages, we kicked off the summer with an event fit to make you feel like we’re on island time!
