The Cliffs recently helped sponsor four day-long rides through Greenville with George Hincapie and World Bicycle Relief, an organization that works to mobilize children and adults in developing nations through the power of bicycles.
The Cliffs, in partnership with Director of Cycling George Hincapie and his Hotel Domestique, sponsored World Bicycle Relief’s ‘Palmetto Experience,’ a series of four day-long rides through the Greenville area offering riders the exhilarating opportunity to experience life as a professional cyclist as they traversed the winding roads of the Blue Ridge with George and fellow pro cyclist Christian Vande Velde while raising money for World Bicycle Relief.
World Bicycle Relief is working to create a world “where distance is no longer a barrier to independence and livelihood” by providing rugged bikes to people in Angola, Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, South Africa, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. These bikes help ensure people have constant access to healthcare, education and job opportunities. World Bicycle Relief has donated nearly 300,000 bikes to date to people across Africa, and The Cliffs is honored to help sponsor their philanthropic efforts that are making a difference around the world.
