Every day brings something new when you have the luxury of a club membership at The Cliffs. As a member of our luxury communities, you have the opportunity to select two types of membership to fulfill your every need. Both grant access to a variety of exclusive amenities, events, and bespoke experiences across all seven of our communities. 

With a membership at The Cliffs, you can look forward to some exciting news for the upcoming year. Coming soon are several new facilities and event venues to further complement The Cliffs club membership experience. These opportunities will provide individuals with even more chances to gather, play, and enjoy the camaraderie of our communities.

1. The Keowee Springs Clubhouse

Aside from its family-friendly amenities like The Beach Club and Surf Shop, The Bistro, The Porch, and an acclaimed Tom Fazio golf course, The Cliffs at Keowee Springs has long been hoping for its own clubhouse.

Designed by Hart Howerton, a top architectural firm based in New York and San Francisco, the clubhouse will overlook the 18th hole and provide stunning views from multiple vantage points. There will be interconnected pavilions and open-air breezeways that will be used for dining areas, bar and lounge areas, a golf shop, and a wellness center.

Since the beginning, Keowee Springs has been seeking to add this type of facility to its community. Construction documents have been delivered to contractors and the permitting process has officially begun. The Cliffs is looking forward to the start of construction in the coming winter months.

2. Lake Club at The Landing at Keowee Springs

A new amenity space is being added to The Landing, a quiet development located on a prime peninsula

within The Cliffs at Keowee Springs. The Lake Club has been designed by Lake|Flato Architects, an Austin-based firm known for blending buildings into attractive environments. The club will include an indoor and outdoor gathering space ideal for year-round use.

The club will also incorporate a wellness center with a small yoga deck, an intimate food and beverage outlet that serves “high-end pool food,” a cozy event lawn, and several swimming pools. The Lake Club can be reached by boat dock so that members can access the club by boat. 

3. The Tavern and Golf House at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove

At The Cliffs at Walnut Cove, a recent clubhouse renovation has improved both style and service. With new furniture and finishes, The Tavern’s dining room conveys a fresh sense of elegance. A newly covered outdoor patio provides opportunities to dine both indoors and outdoors, coupled with fantastic views.

Furthermore, the renovation increased functionality within The Golf House. Golfers can now access the pro shop directly from the new layout, which includes a lounge area with long views of the course. All of the member spaces in our communities are meant to promote social connection, and this new layout encourages golfers to connect and enjoy each other’s company.

4. The Cabin at The Cliffs at Mountain Park

At the moment, a substantial expansion and renovation is underway at The Cabin at The Cliffs at Mountain Park.

Though already beautiful and well-built, The Cabin simply needed more space. With the project, the main dining room and patio are being doubled in size, allowing for larger gatherings and special events. New, intimate rooms are being added for private parties that can run alongside the nightly dinner service. As the food and beverage menu upgrades, the kitchen and other back-of-the-house spaces are growing in size and function. Lastly, a golf pro shop and locker room are also being installed as part of the expansion. 

Reopening is expected to occur by spring 2022. In the meantime, food and beverage services are available at The Outpost while golf is being operated from a temporary site.  

South Street Partners Breathe New Life into The Communities

Providing a club membership experience that exceeds expectations has been the goal since day one. Calloway emphasizes that The Cliffs team does not rest on its laurels, but prefers to build on positive momentum.

Upon acquiring The Cliffs back in 2019, South Street Partners completed overdue promises from the previous owners, and even added a few of their own. Today, a two-pronged approach is being taken to further enhance the member experience, highlighting both service philosophy and physical amenities. 

The Two Types of Cliffs Club Memberships 

The Golf Membership 

The Cliffs offers a Golf Membership, the highest form of membership available. With the Cliffs club membership you are granted access to all seven golf courses, as well as recreational, fitness, and social events and facilities. This membership is ideal for golf enthusiasts.

The Active Membership

A second membership option — The Active Membership — provides the same recreation, fitness, and social amenities, with the exception of golf. However, Active Members can still play with a Golf Member up to six times per year. If you’re not a golf enthusiast by nature, but still find it rewarding to stay active and healthy, then this membership is for you.
