With 8.5 miles of private trails located within the grounds, you can easily explore the area, either on foot or by mountain bike. There are even private venues that allow you to take in the scenery, like a pavilion in the hills, perfect for picnics with friends and family. Nearby, there are also great fishing opportunities in the lakes, ponds and rivers of the area, offering another way to connect with nature.
Within The Blue Ridge Mountains, there numerous charming mountain towns to explore, perfect for shopping and dining. From Mountain Park, Greenville, Hendersonville and Flat Rock are all less than half an hour away. Larger cities, like Asheville or Charlotte are also conveniently nearby.
The Golf Course at Mountain Park
Named one of Golfweek’s Best New Modern Courses, the golf course at Mountain Park is a breath of fresh air to mountain golf. When designer Gary Player took on the endeavor, he wanted to stay true to the natural landscape. Tucked in a valley bordered by rolling mountains, this unique links-style course is both natural and authentic.
As you make your way through the course, there are waves of native grasses and dramatic mounding that incorporate the surrounding mountain landscape. Given its walkable design, you may choose to walk the course instead, and appreciate the winding river that flows through 14 of the 18 holes.
The practice facilities at Mountain Park are perfect for players looking to improve their golf game. With a one-of-a-kind driving range with two-sided teeing green, acres for practicing your chips and puts, and welded barrels and farm equipment for target drills located right on the grounds, you’ll start to enjoy practicing just as much as competing.
The Cabin at Mountain Park
Such a rustic golf course design calls for a compatible clubhouse –– and what better way to mesh the two than with a sophisticated mountain cabin design. The Cabin at Mountain Park houses a retail shop, perfect for all of your golfing needs, as well as a long bar and dining venue.
The Cabin at Mountain Park isn’t only a gathering place for golfers, it’s somewhere all members come to enjoy fresh Southern cuisine and evening drinks on the wrap-around veranda. This cozy clubhouse is also home to a couple of friendly Bloodhounds, Copper and Shugar, who can be found casually roaming the grounds.
