Whether you’re a horse owner, a riding enthusiast, or simply looking to enjoy a day on horseback, the Equestrian Center at The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards offers facilities and programs giving members access to more than 200 miles of scenic riding trails through Jocassee Gorges Wilderness Area — named one of the “World’s Last Great Places” by National Geographic — starting with the cool, shady trails right within Keowee Vineyards.
Members of The Cliffs can board their horses at our handsome post-and-beam stables that open to multiple pastures with shelters and a riding arena and pen. The Equestrian Center also offers a customized feeding program and horse training — for you and your horse!
Spend a day discovering the spectacular countryside surrounding Keowee Vineyards from a different vantage point. Those without their own horse can book trail rides through Saddle Creek Vistas, our hand-picked purveyor that offers rides on the 200 miles of scenic riding trails through Jocassee Gorges Wilderness Area.
The Equestrian Center hosts special events throughout the year. Members from every community and of all ages gather in the barn at Halloween to hear ghost stories, and the little ones love our egg hunt and petting zoo at Easter. Every year, we host a Kentucky Derby Party, where members can wear their favorite horse racing hats, drink mint juleps and watch the race on the big screen. Regular Saddle and Sip events — an evening on horseback followed by a post-ride happy hour with beer, wine and hors d’oeuvres — are a member favorite. The equestrian team also organizes charity events for the local community.
Featuring a full calendar of competitions and activities, the nearby Tryon International Equestrian Center is an international destination for equestrian competitors and enthusiasts and is destined to become one of the premier centers in the equestrian world. The new facility features 10 riding arenas, 850 permanent stalls and an exquisite covered riding facility.
