Top Memorial Day Events at The Cliffs
Memorial Day is a day to honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military and also marks the unofficial start of summer. Here, at the Cliffs, we have several events planned across our communities, offering a unique way to celebrate Memorial Day weekend. From tennis tournaments to cookouts, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the beautiful scenery at The Cliffs and connect with other members.
In this blog, we will highlight some of the Memorial Day events happening this year at The Cliffs so that you can make the most of your holiday weekend.
The Asheville Region
The Cliffs at Walnut Cove
Memorial Day Dinner and Carnival –– May 27
Join us at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove for a festive dinner and carnival event featuring live music, and lawn games, such as cornhole, bocce, and mega Jenga. For the little ones, there will be a balloon artist making colorful creations and various inflatables where they can jump and play.
Dinner will consist of various stations created by our culinary team, including a barbeque station including pork, brisket, and chicken; a slider station with bison, lobster rolls, and portobellos; and various sides including a southern squash casserole and a watermelon, mint, and feta salad, plus many more. For dessert, you can also enjoy ice cream sandwiches from Sunshine Sammies food truck.
Memorial Day Tennis Round Robin, Kids Tennis Clinic, and Cookout –– May 29
Tennis enthusiasts, grab your racquet and doubles partner for a Memorial Day doubles round-robin tennis tournament. And, If you have children who would like to start learning the game, kids of all ages and skill levels can take part in a special tennis clinic held by our professional staff. After the tournament, there will also be a Memorial Day Cookout in the community, so stick around to eat and socialize.

Join us for a traditional Lowcountry Boil at The Bistro. The dining setup will include various food stations to pick and choose from a variety of dishes created by our celebrated culinary staff.

With live music and grill/cookout stations, members can get in the holiday spirit and enjoy socializing with other guests. There will also be kid’s activities, including a bouncy house and some assorted games.

- Join us at The Cliffs at Glassy, where members can participate in a friendly single-elimination cornhole tournament to showcase their skills in the classic backyard game. During the tournament, there will also be a pool party and cookout for all who wish to attend.
Memorial Day Stars and Stripes Pickleball Tournament –– May 27
- Wear your best red, white, and blue attire as you take the court to participate in a spirited game of pickleball, which promises to be an exciting event for players and fans alike.
