The project’s planner, Mark Permar, describes it by saying “The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards Lakehouse is designed to deliver an unparalleled dining experience and new possibilities for members to entertain guests along the shores of beautiful Lake Keowee”.  Whether it’s to enjoy a meal with family or a drink with friends, this new venue is another way to relax and make the most of lake living in the Carolinas. 

Open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, The Lakehouse offers a way for members to enjoy the warmer months at The Cliffs. The exact days and times will vary depending on club events, private events, and holidays, so be sure to check with the community for a detailed calendar. Gather together for dinner with friends or drive your boat up for our Tacklebox Concert Series with live music and a picnic dinner to enjoy on your boat or on the lawn. Numerous events are housed here during the summer months. 

The Design

Designed by Paul Zugg of Signature Architects in Clemson, The Lakehouse is a stunning embodiment of natural beauty and harmonious design. The use of natural materials and colors perfectly complements the serene backdrop of Lake Keowee. With its minimalist architectural lines, The Lakehouse stands gracefully overlooking the picturesque lake, creating a seamless blend with its surroundings. 

The Exterior

The choice of exterior materials for the home aligns harmoniously with the neighboring residences and the surrounding natural environment, incorporating elements such as pine, cedar, natural stone, and painted siding, while the roof will be adorned with metal.

Surrounding The Lakehouse, the landscape boasts an abundance of native plants from the Upstate region, adding a touch of natural elegance that further complements the overall ambiance. Additionally, the patio bar and outdoor dining area provide a delightful space to unwind and relish in the beauty of the lake, welcoming boaters who dock at the convenient onsite marina. 

The Interior

Once inside, the interior features a spacious indoor dining room, ideal for intimate gatherings and shared meals. Adjacent to it is an open-air pavilion that offers a versatile space for dining and entertainment, making it a perfect setting for special events and weddings. This pavilion is equipped with wood screen walls that can be easily opened or closed, allowing for a customizable atmosphere and adaptability to various weather conditions. The strategic positioning of the pavilion and dining room ensures breathtaking panoramic views of the lake, inviting an abundance of natural light and gentle breezes from the southwest. 

The Lakehouse truly epitomizes the harmonious connection between indoor and outdoor living, offering a serene retreat where nature and architectural brilliance coexist in perfect harmony.
