Named for Falls Creek, which winds its way through seven holes, the 160-acre Keowee Falls golf course stretches across mountainous terrain with numerous elevation changes, tree-lined fairways, streams, ponds and lengthy par 3s, all surrounded by woods and wildflowers. Bermuda grass tees and fairways with Champion ultra-dwarf greens keep things interesting on the course.

The Nicklaus name has long been associated with greatness on the golf course. Nicknamed "the Golden Bear," Jack Nicklaus is considered by many to be the greatest professional golfer, having won 18 major championships in his 25-year career. Nicklaus is also an accomplished course designer and has been honored with every significant award that recognizes excellence in course design and development.
One trademark of a Nicklaus design is to masterfully weave golf course design with the residential component of a project. When creating both of our Jack Nicklaus Design golf courses, at Walnut Cove and Keowee Falls, Nicklaus worked closely with The Cliffs to enhance the natural environment and create courses both challenging and enjoyable for players of all levels.
The 28,000-square-foot grand Clubhouse features turn-of-the-century architecture with an Adirondack influence. Porch rocking chairs invite relaxation. An outdoor terrace beckons you to dine by firelight with sweeping panoramic views of Falls Creek and up to 10 of the course’s 18 holes, while the dining room provides a moving view of the sunset as you dine on Blue Ridge cuisine with a creative flair.
“Our members appreciate the pure, core golf experience Keowee Falls provides;
our goal was simply to enhance that experience.”
-Brian Peeples, Director of Golf Operations
