Discover 6 Exciting Summer Activities for Kids 

With the school year coming to a close, we know your children are thrilled to be out of the classroom and back outside making the most of their life in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

To help you plan a summer for your kids that is filled with new friends, outdoor adventures, and memories that will last a lifetime, we design multiple events with them in mind. Read on to discover exciting summer activities for kids happening across our communities at The Cliffs.

1. Youth Watersports Clinic

When: June 13 – 14 | June 20 – 21 | July 11 – 12 | July 18 – 19

Where: The Cliffs at Keowee Springs Beach Club

This year, we are pleased to reintroduce our annual kid’s watersports clinic held at The Cliffs at Keowee Springs Beach Club. Each clinic will be focused on watersports fun and show them everything the lake has to offer. The clinic is open to children between the ages of seven and ten and will have a maximum of four children per group. During the camp, the kids will receive professional instruction for a variety of activities including water skiing, wakeboarding, and wake surfing. This is sure to be a memorable experience for your children, with plenty of fun under the sun.

2. Glassy Kids Camp

When: June 26 – July 1

Where: The Cliffs at Glassy 

Located at one of our Mountain Region communities, The Cliffs at Glassy, Glassy Kids camp offers everything you would expect from a traditional summer camp –– and more! With hiking, campfire stories, team-building activities, and sporting competitions, your children will create lasting memories they will carry with them for years to come.

3. July 4th Kid’s Day 

When: July 4

Where: The Cliffs Valley

Join us on July 4th for Family Fun Day at Valley! The event will be held in the Valley Courtyard from 12 pm to 4 pm. For entertainment, there will be bounce houses, obstacle courses, and other games for everyone to participate in. We will also be serving lunch and snow cones with seating in our ballroom. So gather the family together for a fun-filled holiday celebration.

4. Junior Championship

When: July 5

Where: The Cliffs at Keowee Springs

For the young golf enthusiasts in our community, our Junior Championship is the perfect opportunity to put their skills to the test in a round of friendly competition. This year, the tournament will take place on the spectacular Keowee Springs golf course. Designed by Tom Fazio, this course offers young golfers the flexibility to play the game in a way that suits their skills. With three loops of six holes, and a set of family tees, this is a great experience for your young golfers who are starting to compete. Not only that, but it will also motivate them to spend more time outside practicing to prepare for the event. There are limited slots available, so be sure to sign them up early if they wish to participate.

5. Walnut Cove Kids Camp

When: July 11 – 15

Where: The Cliffs at Walnut Cove

Another summer camp opportunity at The Cliffs is our Walnut Cove Kids Camp. Based in our Asheville Region, this camp will feature golf activities, team building activities, swimming, and water sports. There will also be a Keowee Springs Beach Club day where the kids will get to make a splash on the winding water slides and diving boards at the community’s pool. 

One of the most exciting parts of the camp for children of all ages is the mini petting zoo. This activity will allow the kids to get up close to the animals and learn more about their particular behaviors. 6. Summer Cooking Decorating – Valley

If you’re looking for a sweet treat with a summer theme, join us at The Cliffs Valley for a cookie decorating class with Jackie from 3 Eggs Cakery. During this hands-on class, your children will have the opportunity to learn various techniques used at the bakery to decorate cookies. All cookies and materials will be provided –– and the best part is, your kids can take their decorated cookies home with them for your family to enjoy!
