Set at the southern edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains, The Cliffs at Mountain Park is 5,000 acres of rolling hills surrounded by protected forests. Centrally located among The Cliffs’ seven communities and the celebrated cities of Greenville, SC and Asheville, NC, Mountain Park offers the atmosphere of a quaint mountain hideaway with the convenience and sophistication of great cities just minutes away.
The Cliffs has permanently preserved 1,000 acres of Mountain Park for green space, parks and more than eight miles of interconnected hiking trails. The Broken Oak Organic Farm at The Cliffs is nearby, and at the Village at Mountain Park, you’ll find the recently opened Mountain Park Wellness Center, medical offices and more, with a Market Square, bed and breakfast and more breaking ground this year.
The latest addition to The Cliffs’ treasure trove of championship golf courses, this Gary Player Signature Course is a walkable links-style course, where cart paths are hidden. It folds delicately into the topography of the land around it, running along the banks of the North Saluda River with mountain ridgelines as the backdrop. Player selected Zoysia grass for the fairways, Bermuda grass for the greens, and native grasses and landscape materials throughout the course as part of his passion for conversation.
The Cabin at Mountain Park is the charmingly rustic clubhouse adjacent to the Gary Player Signature golf course that has quickly become one of our members’ most beloved dining venues. The Cabin offers a casual setting with sweeping views and diverse dining choices in the welcoming great room and on the grand wraparound porch.
The inviting, Italianate Village adjoined to The Cliffs at Mountain Park is home to the newly opened Wellness Center, offering members access to the innovative Funxtion fitness system (the first of its kind in the country), and The Cliffs Information Center, as well as medical and dental care. Additional amenities breaking ground at the Village this year include a mix of residential, commercial, retail, medical and office space that will serve both members of The Cliffs and residents of northern Greenville County.
The Cliffs’ very own five-acre organic farm, located next to Mountain Park, produces a bounty of fresh vegetables, herbs and flowers throughout the year. This fresh, seasonal produce makes its way not only to the tables of our restaurants and members’ homes, but to eateries around the Upstate, as well, including nearby Restaurant 17 at Hotel Domestique, and the American Grocery Restaurant and Table 301 group in Greenville. Members of The Cliffs help farmer Craig Weiner harvest heirloom fruits and vegetables and happily help themselves to the farm’s bounty on Wednesdays: Fresh Market Day.
The Cliffs at Mountain Park is an outdoor lover’s paradise. Inside the gates is an 8.5-mile trail system that includes eight nature trails and one super trail accessible by foot, bike or car. Ranging from an easy stroll to a strenuous hike, the trails lead around ponds, over mountain streams and past native flora and fauna. Nearby in any direction are countless state parks, national forests, wilderness areas and more for hiking, mountain biking and endless exploring.
Our winding mountain roads are also a cyclist’s dream. Exceptional routes near Mountain Park allow cyclists to ride to Cliffs Valley, Hotel Domestique (the boutique, cyclist-friendly hotel owned by international Tour de France legend and The Cliffs’ Director of Cycling George Hincapie) and the historic mountain village of Saluda, NC, all without accessing the highway. For a more leisurely ride, take the paved 21-mile Swamp Rabbit Trail from Travelers Rest to downtown Greenville.
Hand select a homesite on which to build the house of your dreams, or purchase a home already available. Homesites, starting at $50,000, offer magnificent mountain views at various altitudes. If you’d rather buy than build, homes start at $799,000 and you’re certain to find the home that suits you and your family.
