Summer at The Cliffs: The Mountain Region

Tubing Down the Saluda River at The Cliffs at Mountain Park

Bring the kids tubing down the Saluda River, the slow moving waterway that runs through The Course at Mountain Park. Starting at hole #6, jump in the water and enjoy the leisurely float down the winding river. End the day with a delicious lunch at the Outpost located just across hole #16.

All American Hike and Picnic at The Cliffs at Mountain Park

Get ready to explore the surrounding beauty of The Cliffs at Mountain Park with a hike and picnic on July 2nd. The trek will start at the Dog Hobble Thicket trail and end at the community’s pavilion where the day’s fun will continue with food, games, and fishing. 

Sounds of Summer Music Series in Fountain Inn

Summer at The Cliffs has never sounded sweeter. Starting June 4th thru August 27th, you can enjoy free live music every night at the Commerce Park venue in Fountain Inn. A new band will be playing each week, so reserve your Friday nights for this event!

Sidewalk Art Market in Travelers Rest

Stroll along Main Street in Travelers Rest as you shop from local artisans and craft makers. Find the perfect gift or decor finishes for your home at the Sidewalk Art Market. Good finds include handmade pottery, sculptings, canvas paintings, jewelry, and other fine works of art. The market is open March 20th, April 17th, May 15th, and June 19th. 

Hemmings Motor News Great Race in Greenville

This year, the Great Race kicks off June 19th in San Antonio, Texas, and ends in Greenville, South Carolina on the 27th. Racing participants will drive across the Southeast to make it to the finish line in Downtown Greenville. After seeing who is crowned the winner, walk down Main Street to check out the classic cars that were used in the race. 

Summer at The Cliffs: The Lake Region

Junior Summer Golf Camp at The Cliffs at Keowee Falls 

Register your little one for an exciting week of golf camp at one of the best golf courses in the state! The camp runs from July 2nd thru the 5th, and will teach the basic fundamentals of golf under the instruction of Nick Gregoire,The Cliffs at Keowee Falls’ Assistant Golf Professional. 

Independence Eve Celebration in Walhalla 

Spend Saturday, July 3rd, in the charming town of Walhalla. Shop, eat, and play as you celebrate the eve of Independence Day on Main Street. Then, hold your loved ones close as you watch the brilliant fireworks display from downtown.

Independence Day Celebration in Seneca

Finish your day out on Lake Keowee at Gignilliat Field in Seneca for their yearly Independence Day celebration on July 3rd. This event will include yummy food options, live music, and an award-winning firework show that starts at sunset!

Rhonda Vincent & The Rage Concert in Walhalla

Summertime and Bluegrass music go hand-in-hand here in South Carolina. Watch the “Queen of Bluegrass”, Rhonda Vincent, and her band at the Walhalla Performing Arts Center on July 31st. As it happens, she is a multiple award-winning Bluegrass singer and the latest artist addition to the Grand Ole Opry!

Summer at The Cliffs: The Asheville Region

DuPont Mountain Bike Ride at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove

On July 2nd, take a bike ride with your fellow residents at The Cliffs at DuPont State Park. Be prepared for a good workout as you pedal past several waterfalls and scenic views. The entirety of the ride is roughly 2 hours, so be sure to bring your gear and get ready to sweat!

White Water Rafting at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove

Get out on the water for the time of your life on this guided white water rafting tour. Children ages 8 and older are able to take part in this adventure on the Chattooga River. This half-day trip is scheduled to be held on June 11th.

Stickwork by Patrick Dougherty at The Biltmore in Asheville

Experience the unique craftsmanship behind stickwork, a form of art perfected by North Carolina native, Patrick Dougherty. Each project consists of handmade whimsical structures made of local sticks and saplings. Previous works have been displayed at the Smithsonian of American Art Museum and the United States Botanic Garden. The stickwork exhibit can be found at the Antler Hill Village from April 1st until June 30th.

River Arts District Farmers Market in Asheville

Make the most of your summer at The Cliffs by eating seasonally. Shop for your weekly stock of fresh, local produce from the River Arts District Farmers Market. Fresh cheeses, organic meats, handmade floral bouquets, and other unique pantry items will also be available. Shop every Wednesday, all summer long!

Truly experience nature’s bounty in the Blue Ridge Mountains with a Foraging Tour from No Taste Like Home.
